James Denis Twinberrow
Obituary: J. Instn Loco. Engrs, 1932, 22, 265-6. Born
in Marley Worcs on 9 October 1866.
(Marshall)..Educated at Bedford. In
1888 became a pupil of T.W. Worsdell at Stratford and moved with him to the
NER at Gateshead. Became a Materials Inspector on the NER and following a
period away from the railway he worked in the drawing office of the carriage
& wagon department of the NER at Gateshead between 1905 and 1913 when
he joined Merz & McLellan, eventually working on electric traction in
Argentina. He died on 10 February 1932 at Bickley. Worked closely with
George Harrison Sheffield and his
Company.
